Two Week Look Ahead - 31 August 2017

Good afternoon. So far, we are off to a great school year. People are energized and seem to have started the year on a very positive note. That being said, I also recognize that there is devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, in the Houston area. The stories and pictures are both heartbreaking and inspiring. We will be organizing relief efforts and letters of support for our fellow citizens. Please keep the residents of Texas in your thoughts and prayers.

I will be putting out the Two Week Look Ahead on a regular basis. I try to keep everyone up-to-date on events occurring at LHS. Unfortunately, I will miss things from time-to-time. If I omit something, please send me an email and I can send out new information.

I have become much more comfortable using Twitter over the past years, so I will be sending tweets on a regular basis. I will be sending out many more updates from classroom visits and projects going on during the school day. Follow me on Twitter: @LHS_BlueKnights to get regular updates. You can also get alerts from Twitter even if you do not have an account. All you have to do is text “follow @LHS_BlueKnights” to Twitter’s shortcode, 40404, and you will start getting real time updates.

The LHS Open House is Thursday, September 14 from 6:00-8:00 pm. We will start the evening in the Auditorium promptly at 6:00 pm.

We will be distributing Chromebooks to 10th grade students on Wednesday, September 6 and Thursday, September 7

  • Tenth grade History classes will bring their students to the Middle School Project Room to sign out their Chromebooks. Permission slips must be filled out in order for students to receive a Chromebook. I have attached the guidelines for appropriate use and the permission slip. If you are unable to print the permission slip, we will have some copies in the main office. We will have more information on Chromebook insurance next week.

Just another reminder that Free/Reduced Lunch applications must be filled out each year. Applications can be found on the LHS website.
